Sachsen Classic 2008 - Bosch had 5 teams at the starting line
From 28 - 31 August 2008, the 6th Sachsen Classic provided three exciting days in the world of historic
cars in the lovely region of Saxony. On the very diverse 669 km track, which was filled with numerous
demanding special stages, thousands of spectators looked on in awe as 186 classic cars from the years
1903 - 1988 took off from the starting line.
Bosch confirmed its dedication and commitment with 5 driving teams, accompanied by the popular VW Bus T1
van in the original historic Bosch paintwork.
Starting off in Zwickau, the challenging routes led the participants through Sachsenring, the Erz mountains,
the Saxon and Bohemian Switzerland to the Czech Republic and Poland as far as the finishing line at the
Volkswagen AG Transparent Factory in Dresden. Some parts of the course involved sizable gradients and other
competitive special stages were tricky, which demanded a lot from the vehicles and their occupants.
Also in Saxony, Bosch Automotive presented traditional themes and features to spectators at the starting and
finishing lines during the three rally days. The highlight was the popular Bosch Bus, which was positively
greeted by the spectators everywhere it appeared. The five driving teams representing Bosch fought bravely
and had good reason to celebrate when Jürgen Gras and his co-pilot Rolf A.O. Schneider sailed home in 13th
place in their Opel Cadet C Caravan from 1975.
